Claiming Compensation For Burn Injuries
Over the years our lawyers have dealt with the most serious types of workplace burns. This has given our firm a detailed knowledge of burns and how much compensation should be awarded. Therefore, we can obtain your compensation regardless of where your burn accident took place. The important issue is to instruct a solicitor who understands burns, the healing process, and the potential results of permanent scarring.
Burn Injury Compensation Awards
When placing a value on facial scarring we have to look at a number of factors, but especially the age and sex of the person scarred. Burn injuries are particularly painful and disfiguring, and awards for burn injuries are always towards the upper end of each bracket. In the case of severe facial scarring in a relatively young woman, compensation awards will be between £31,000 and £62,000. Where the scarring does not markedly affect the appearance in a young woman awards will vary between £2,500 and £8,750. For males under the age of 30, very severe facial scarring will result in compensation awards between £19,000 and £42,000. Where the scarring is less significant and only visible on close inspection compensation will vary between £2,500 and £5,850. Awards are less for males and females where the scarring is on other parts of the body, such as the legs, arms, hands, back or chest. Most of these fall into the £4,750 to £9,000 bracket for a number of noticeable, or a single disfiguring scar.
